BRANNA
The village of Branná, known as Goldenstein or Kolštejn in Czech, was founded in the Jeseníky foothills around 1282. Zlatý kámen, now known as Branná, was founded along the old trade route to Silesia. Sometime after 1301, Jan Wüstenhube, the builder and founder of the local castle, ruled over the village. Later, Kolštějn was returned to the royal property and from 1339 the family of the lords of Lipá ruled here. Since 1947, the village has been referred to as Branná.The village was named after the local river. Since 1992, Branná has had the status of a city monument zone.
